Golden Suns Run in Chile Pepper Festival

Freshman Aubre Gilreath broke the 19-minute mark to lead Arkansas Tech University to a 16th place finish among the 35 non-NCAA Division I member institutions competing in the 29th annual Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival in Fayetteville on Saturday.

Gilreath completed the 5-kilometer course in 18 minutes and 57 seconds. She finished 58th among 290 runners.

Cami Hedstrom (76th, 19:21.1),  Logan Edwards (97th, 19:46), Halle Gilreath (105th, 19:54.2), Lauryn Doublet (130th, 20:25.1), Mallory Morris (134th, 20:33.1) and Adrianna Simmons (214th, 24:37.6) also represented the Golden Suns in the meet.

Arkansas Tech will run in the University of the Ozarks Open on Saturday, Oct. 7, in Clarksville.
