Golden Suns, Rangers Split in Alva

Game One: Arkansas Tech 7, NWOSU 1 Home runs by Kambri Hill and Courtney Colunga helped Arkansas Tech defeat Northwestern Oklahoma State 7-1 in Thursday’s first game. Hill delivered a two-run home run in the first inning and Colunga blasted a three-run homer in the seventh. Whitney Robinson drove in the Golden Suns’ two additional runs with a seventh-inning double. Sydnee Clark (8-2) picked up the win in relief for Arkansas Tech. She allowed one run on four hits over four innings. Starter Morgan Vaughan received no decision after she did not allow a hit or a run in three innings of work. Game Two: NWOSU 6, Arkansas Tech 4 Jordan Haya’s three-run home run in the bottom of the second inning put Northwestern Oklahoma State in front for good in a 6-4 win over Arkansas Tech in the nightcap on Thursday.
