Golden Suns Rally on Day Two in Indiana

A seven-stroke improvement from day one to day two allowed the Arkansas Tech University women’s golf team to finish in eighth place among a field of 16 squads at the University of Indianapolis Invitational in Carmel, Ind., on Monday and Tuesday.

The Golden Suns returned team scores of 311-304 for a 615 total. Dallas Baptist University won the tournament with a 36-hole score of 585.

Arkansas Tech was represented in the event by Caroline Fredensborg (T-23rd, 73-79-152), Avery Struck (32nd, 80-74-154), Pia Nunbhakdi (T-33rd, 78-77-155), Holly Standing (T-33rd, 81-74-155) and Anna Frandsen (T-52nd, 80-80-160).

Head coach Amy Anderson and the Golden Suns will return to action Oct. 3-4 at the University of Central Oklahoma Classic in Edmond, Okla.
