Golden Suns Move Into First Place in GAC

Game One: Tech 10, SWOSU 2 Arkansas Tech sent 15 batters to the plate and scored all of its runs in the bottom of the third inning in a 10-2 win over Southwestern Oklahoma State in game one on Saturday. The Golden Suns scored their 10 runs in the third inning on five hits. They were helped along by six walks and one hit batsman by Bulldog pitchers during the frame. Alexa Wimberly, Janie Knowles, Kambri Hill and Shanna Davidson notched two runs batted in apiece for Tech. Sydnee Clark (6-2) earned the win in the circle for Arkansas Tech. She limited SWOSU to two runs on six hits. Clark recorded five strikeouts in four innings of work. Mary Moran came out of the bullpen to record the final three outs for the Golden Suns. The game was stopped after the fifth inning due to the mercy rule. Game Two: Tech 5, SWOSU 0 Kelsie Barker pitched a three-hit shutout and Whitney Robinson went 3-for-4 with two runs scored in a 5-0 Arkansas Tech victory during game two on Saturday. The Golden Suns benefited from three Southwestern Oklahoma State errors. Those miscues led to four unearned runs crossing the plate for Arkansas Tech. Barker (3-1) struck out five batters while winning her third consecutive start in the circle.]]>
