Arkansas Tech University went 2-2 in a four-game Great American Conference softball series against Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, Okla., on Friday and Saturday.
The Golden Suns (20-12 overall, 14-6 GAC) will host East Central University for a four-game series at the Chartwells Women’s Sports Complex in Russellville on Friday, March 31, and Saturday, April 1.

Game One: Tech 5, OBU 1
Janie Knowles’ three-run home run in the top of the fifth inning broke a scoreless tie and sent Arkansas Tech to a 5-1 victory over Oklahoma Baptist in game one of Friday’s doubeheader.
Jalissa Gum (7-5) went the distance in the circle for the Golden Suns. She allowed one run on four hits while striking out 15.
Game Two: Tech 4, OBU 3
A last-chance rally in the top of the seventh inning gave Arkansas Tech a 4-3 win and a doubleheader sweep of Oklahoma Baptist on Friday.
Megan Goodnight tied the score with a run-scoring single and Sarah LaChance followed by driving in the go-ahead run with a single.
ATU reliever Cara Tolar (2-2) pitched around a lead-off single by Oklahoma Baptist’s Katie Reyes in the bottom of the seventh to preserve a one-run victory. Tolar pitched four shutout innings for the Suns.
Game Three: OBU 2, Tech 1
Morgan Hughes’ walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning was the difference in a 2-1 Oklahoma Baptist win over Arkansas Tech in game one of Saturday’s doubleheader.
Game Four: OBU 7, Tech 6
Cheyenne Demaree hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh inning and Oklahoma Baptist swept the Saturday doubleheader by defeating Arkansas Tech 7-6 in the nightcap.
