Arkansas Tech University won three of its four matches at a weekend volleyball classic hosted by Henderson State University and Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia on Friday and Saturday.
The Golden Suns (5-3) will open Great American Conference play and the home portion of their 2016 schedule by hosting Southern Arkansas University for a 6 p.m. match at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville on Tuesday, Sept. 13. No admission will be charged.
Arkansas Tech 3, Drury 2
Hunter Eshnaur made 16 kills and McCall Wilkins notched 15 kills to lead Arkansas Tech to a 20-25, 22-25, 25-17, 25-21, 15-9 win over the Drury University Panthers on Friday.
Tech’s Kaylee Konsella added 10 kills, while Sarah Rosinke had 49 assists and Madison Nagel collected 25 digs.
Northern State 3, Arkansas Tech 0
An edge at the net lifted Northern State University to a 25-21, 25-21, 25-15 defeat of Arkansas Tech on Friday.
The Wolves finished with a 14-5 edge in blocks and a .252 to .127 advantage in team hitting percentage.
Eshnaur and Kenzie Dozier were credited with 10 kills apiece for the Golden Suns.
Arkansas Tech 3, Lindenwood 0
Arkansas Tech cruised to a 25-16, 25-20, 25-20 win over the Lindenwood University Lions in its first match on Saturday.
Eshnaur piled up 13 kills and Lauren Rodemers made 12 kills for the Golden Suns. Rosinke dished out 28 assists. Nagel had 19 digs to lead Tech to a 67-55 edge in that category.
Arkansas Tech 3, Pittsburg State 0
Arkansas Tech caged the Pittsburg State University Gorillas 25-21, 25-20, 25-23 in its final match of the weekend on Saturday.
Eshnaur had 10 kills and 10 digs for her sixth double-double of the season. Rosinke had a double-double of her own with 33 assists and 10 digs. Nagel contributed 17 digs.
