Golden Suns Go 2-2 on Opening Weekend

Arkansas Tech 3, Molloy College 0 Emily Todd notched 13 kills to lead Arkansas Tech to a 25-14, 25-17, 25-19 victory over Molloy College in its first match of the 2014 season on Friday. Sierra Nighswonger had 22 assists and Alyssa Kool made 11 assists for the Golden Suns in the win. Kaci Jackson and Madison Nagel added 10 digs apiece. Nighswonger contributed 26 assists and Nagel recorded 26 digs. Three Golden Suns reached double figures in kills — Kaylee Konsella (14), Todd (12) and McCall Wilkins (11). Nighswonger was credited with 36 assists and Nagel made 21 digs. Arkansas Tech 3, Midwestern State 2 Arkansas Tech closed out its stay in Wichita Falls in thrilling fashion by rallying for a 22-25, 12-25, 29-27, 25-22, 16-14 win over classic host Midwestern State on Saturday afternoon.
