Southwestern Oklahoma State University defeated Arkansas Tech University 21-25, 25-15, 28-26, 25-21 in the first round of the 2016 Great American Conference Volleyball Tournament at Bank of the Ozarks Arena in Hot Springs on Thursday night.
The loss ended the season for the Golden Suns, who completed their 2016 campaign with a record of 21-12.
SWOSU’s Carly Zak made 18 kills and 13 digs to help the Lady Bulldogs (14-16) advance to a GAC Tournament semifinal match against Southeastern Oklahoma State University on Friday, Nov. 18.
Hunter Eshnaur led Arkansas Tech with 17 kills and 11 digs. Amanda Milnick had 37 assists. Madison Nagel (16 digs) and Matti Dix (15 digs) led the Golden Suns’ back row defense.
The loss marked the final career match for three Arkansas Tech seniors — Kaylee Konsella, Haley Owen and McCall Wilkins.
