Arkansas Tech University is ranked No. 10 in the final National Fastpitch Coaches Association NCAA Division II poll of the 2016 softball season.
The Golden Suns were ranked among the top 10 teams in the nation for each of the final 12 polls during the 2016 campaign, climbing as high as No. 4 in the nation.
It was a groundbreaking season for Arkansas Tech softball, which had never been ranked in the NFCA poll before 2016.
Arkansas Tech completed the 2016 season with a record of 49-11. Under the direction of head coach Kristina McSweeney, the Golden Suns established a new school record for wins in a season, captured the Great American Conference regular season championship, won the NCAA Division II Tournament Central Region 1 title and hosted an NCAA Division II Tournament Super Regional.
