Arkansas Tech University heated up from the floor in the second half and came from behind to defeat Dallas Diesel 97-85 in exhibition women’s basketball at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville on Sunday.
The Golden Suns made 61 percent (22-of-36) of their field goal tries after the intermission to help them overcome a 37-34 halftime deficit.
Tech’s Danielle Frachiseur scored 24 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. She was 8-of-12 from the field and 8-of-11 at the free throw line.
Calli White contributed 22 points for the Golden Suns, 14 of which came in the second half. White was 5-of-11 from 3-point range.
Kelsey McClure added 20 points and six rebounds, while Anissa Pounds finished with 16 points, seven rebounds and five assists.
Dallas Diesel’s Chantoya Hawkins matched Frachiseur for game-high honors in scoring with 24 points.
The nationally 25th-ranked Golden Suns will begin their 2016-17 regular season by hosting Lane College for a 1 p.m. non-conference game at Tucker Coliseum on Saturday, Nov. 12.
