Teams from the Show-Me State were not kind to the Arkansas Tech Golden Suns softball team on Sunday.
The Golden Suns dropped a 9-4 decision to Missouri Western on Sunday morning.
Missouri-St. Louis topped Tech 10-3 later on Sunday to send the Suns home from the Spa City Classic with a 1-3 record.
Amy Kilpatrick and Tiphani Moon had five hits apiece for Tech in its two games on Sunday. Kilpatrick drove in four runs over the course of the two games. Stephanie Lasley added four base hits.
The Golden Suns (9-6) will open Gulf South Conference play by hosting Southern Arkansas for a four-game series this weekend.
Tech and SAU will play two games beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday and a twin bill beginning at noon Sunday. All four games will be played at the Chartwells Women’s Sports Complex in Russellville.
