Arkansas Tech University improved to 7-1 at home during the 2018 volleyball season by defeating Oklahoma Baptist University on Friday and Southern Nazarene University on Saturday at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville.
The Golden Suns (15-8 overall, 8-3 Great American Conference) swept Oklahoma Baptist 25-15, 25-21, 30-28 behind 18 kills and 17 digs by Hunter Eshnaur. Tabitha Spray added 12 kills, Emily Acker made 44 assists and Meredith Darnell notched 20 digs for ATU.
Tech breezed past Southern Nazarene 25-15, 25-19, 25-17 thanks to a .303 team hitting percentage (46 kills, 13 attack errors, 109 total attempts).
With the wins, the Golden Suns are tied for fourth place in the GAC standings with five regular season league matches remaining. ATU is two matches behind GAC leader Harding University (16-7, 10-1).
Arkansas Tech will visit Henderson State University (20-4, 9-2) for a 6:30 p.m. GAC match in Arkadelphia on Thursday, Oct. 18.
