Golden Suns Climb Into Top 20

Arkansas Tech University advanced two positions to No. 20 in the latest edition of the USA Today Sports NCAA Division II women’s basketball top 25 poll.

The eighth poll of the 2015-16 season was released by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association on Tuesday.

The Golden Suns (11-2 overall, 9-0 Great American Conference) earned three double-digit wins over the past week, defeating Ouachita Baptist University 69-48 on Thursday, Southern Arkansas University 91-73 on Saturday and Harding University 80-52 on Monday.

With those wins, Arkansas Tech has built a two-game lead for first place in the GAC standings with 13 regular season league games remaining.

This week, the Golden Suns will face Henderson State University at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 21, at the Duke Wells Center in Arkadelphia and the University of Arkansas-Monticello at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 23, at Tucker Coliseum in Russellville.
