George Takes Leadership of ASBTDC Office

Nathan George is the new director of the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC) regional office at Arkansas Tech University.

A 1976 graduate of Arkansas Tech with a Bachelor of Science degree in history and political science education, George was appointed to the position by the Tech Board of Trustees during its April meeting.

George served in the State of Arkansas General Assembly as the state representative from District 61 from 2004-2010. He owned and operated a cattle, poultry and timber farm for 14 years, and he has 17 years experience teaching in public schools.

Prior to his appointment in the Arkansas Tech ASBTDC regional office, George worked as a trainer for the Arkansas Department of Workforce Services.

George was named Dardanelle citizen of the year in 2007 and his family was chosen as 1996 Yell County farm family of the year.

Arkansas Tech has been home to an ASBTDC regional office since January 2010. The office is located on the fourth floor of Rothwell Hall.

The ASBTDC represents a partnership between the U.S. Small Business Administration, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and other institutions of higher education in Arkansas. The center is dedicated to assisting new, existing and expanding businesses.  The regional office at Arkansas Tech serves Conway, Crawford, Franklin, Johnson, Logan, Pope, Scott, Sebastian and Yell counties.
