Jason Geiken, Arkansas Tech University vice president for advancement and executive vice president of the ATU Foundation, has resigned effective Dec. 5, 2024, to accept a similar position at Texas A&M University-Kingsville.

A farewell reception is planned for 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Williamson Hall Dining Room.

“We are grateful to Jason for his service to Arkansas Tech University since 2020,” said Dr. Russell Jones, ATU president. “He has played an integral leadership role in some of the most successful fundraising years in the history of the ATU Foundation. Our university is better as a result of Jason’s time here. We wish him and his family all the best as they pursue a new opportunity.”

Among the achievements by the ATU Division of Advancement and the ATU Foundation under Geiken’s leadership was the completion of the $55 million “Together, We Can” comprehensive campaign for Arkansas Tech. The campaign raised funds for scholarships, student success programs, innovation initiatives and the construction of Ferguson Student Union.

“I will forever be grateful for the opportunities I’ve had serving as vice president for advancement at Arkansas Tech University,” said Geiken. “I joined this team just before the COVID-19 pandemic, and I will never forget how ATU alumni and the Arkansas River Valley community came together to support ATU students during such a challenging time. Together, we set and achieved some really big goals that will impact the lives of students in the years, decades and generations to come. I wish President Jones and the entire ATU community nothing but the very best in the future.”

Bryan Fisher, ATU associate vice president for advancement, will serve as interim vice president for advancement and interim executive vice president of the ATU Foundation until a permanent successor is identified.

A product of Russellville High School, Fisher earned four letters as a member of the Arkansas Tech football team from 1995-98. He graduated from ATU with a Bachelor of Science degree in natural science in 1999 and has worked in the ATU Division of Advancement since 2011.
