Arkansas Tech’s Jack Garrett is tied for 27th place entering the final round of the 2012 NCAA Division II Midwest/South Central Men’s Golf Championship at Jefferson City, Mo.
Garrett followed up his opening-round 73 by posting a 76 during the second round on Tuesday.
The sophomore from Fouke shot even-par 36 on the front nine Tuesday, but bogeys at the 12th and 15th holes combined with a closing double bogey at the par-4 18th hole sent him to a back-nine 40.
Jared King of Central Missouri is the 36-hole leader. He has fired rounds of 68 and 71 for a 5-under total of 139 and a one-stroke lead over Central Oklahoma’s Josh Creel.
The tournament is being played at the 7,112-yard, par-72 Jefferson Country Club. The regional, which includes a field of 108 players, will conclude with the final round on Wednesday, May 9.
