Gandy to Visit Arkansas Tech Tuesday

Dr. Rex Gandy, one of four finalists to become the 12th president of Arkansas Tech University, will participate in a pair of public events on the main campus of Arkansas Tech in Russellville on Tuesday, April 8. Gandy will speak and take questions from the audience during a campus forum in the Doc Bryan Student Services Center Lecture Hall from 10-11:15 a.m. on Tuesday. All students, faculty and staff are invited to attend. There will be a community reception with Gandy for alumni and other supporters of the university from 4:15-5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Chambers Cafeteria West Dining Hall. Gandy is provost at Texas A&M University-Kingsville. Arkansas Tech is seeking a successor for Dr. Robert C. Brown, who announced on Aug. 23, 2013, that the current academic year would be his last as active president of the university. Brown has served as president at Arkansas Tech since July 1, 1993. A similar campus forum and community reception will be held for Arkansas Tech presidential search finalist Dr. Robert J. Marley on Tuesday, April 15. Finalists Dr. Robin E. Bowen and Dr. J. William Berry have already made their visits to Arkansas Tech. For more information, visit www.atu.edu/presidentialsearch.
