The Golden Suns received 86 points in voting among league head coaches during a preseason poll.
Oklahoma Baptist University (1st, 120 points), East Central University (2nd, 109 points) and Harding University (3rd, 104 points) are among the favorites to win the GAC championship this fall.
Southern Arkansas University (5th, 80 points), Southeastern Oklahoma State University (6th, 67 points), Southwestern Oklahoma State University (7th, 65 points), Southern Nazarene University (8th, 57 points), Northwestern Oklahoma State University (9th, 38 points), Henderson State University (10th, 27 points), Ouachita Baptist University (11th, 26 points) and the University of Arkansas-Monticello (12th, 13 points) completed the preseason poll.
Arkansas Tech finished fourth at the 2017 GAC Championships. The Golden Suns are scheduled to begin their 2018 season Sept. 1 at a meet in Edmond, Okla.
