Freshmen Attend TECH Knowledge

Nearly 100 entering freshmen at Arkansas Tech are on campus today learning more about the university at a TECH Knowledge session.

Thursday’s session is the fifth of six orientation sessions being offered for new students this summer.

Those attending the orientation session are divided into groups that are led by upperclassmen who serve as orientation leaders.

As part of the sessions, the students receive information about the variety of services provided to help Arkansas Tech students.  Additionally, students also learn about ways to become involved on the campus and about the more than 100 student organizations available for students.

Jaime Martin, coordinator of orientation, says she hopes students participating in the orientation sessions connect with upperclassmen and feel more comfortable arriving on campus in the fall.

The remaining orientation session is scheduled for Thursday, July 22, and there are also two sessions taking place for transfer students.  See the session schedule.

Each TECH Knowledge session costs $25, and the fee includes an orientation t-shirt, meals and orientation materials.  The cost also includes admission to a separate orientation session for parents.
