Four-Peat: Golden Suns Win GAC Golf Title

Arkansas Tech University swept the team and individual women’s golf titles at the 2018 Great American Conference Championships, which concluded on Tuesday at Hot Springs Country Club.

The Golden Suns earned their fourth consecutive GAC team championship by posting a 54-hole total of 905, which was 17 strokes better than their nearest competition in the nine-team field.

Tech’s Peerada Piddon won the GAC individual title by firing rounds of 71-72-70 for a three-day total of 3-under par 213 at Hot Springs Country Club’s Park Course.

Piddon was joined on the all-tournament team by fellow Golden Sun Pia Nunbhakdi. She shot 74-76-72 for a 54-hole total of 222 and a share of second place.

Holly Standing (T-8th, 78-74-83-235), Allie Weiner (T-17th, 79-78-82-239) and Avery Struck (T-20th, 78-75-87-240) also contributed to Arkansas Tech’s team title.

The Golden Suns will compete in an NCAA Division II Super Regional May 7-9 in St. Charles, Mo.
