Former Wonder Boy Signs to Play in CFL

Former Arkansas Tech offensive lineman Brandon Thomas signed with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League on Monday, June 4.

Thomas, a 6-foot-5, 292-pound tackle, appeared in nine games and made six starts for the Wonder Boys during the 2011 season. He was voted by his teammates to serve as a captain on the offensive line.

Before transferring to Arkansas Tech, Thomas played three seasons at the University of Tulsa. He appeared in 27 games and made 14 starts for the Golden Hurricane from 2008-2010.

A product of Nordonia High School in Cleveland, Ohio, Thomas joins a Hamilton Tiger-Cats franchise that was founded in 1950 and has won the Grey Cup as CFL champion eight times (1953, 1957, 1963, 1965, 1967, 1972, 1986, 1999).

Hamilton will make its 2012 regular season debut on Friday, June 29, against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
