Family Day Welcomes "Elvis" to Tech

Family Day 2010 is set for Saturday, Sept. 18 from 2-6 p.m. in Centennial Plaza (next to Thone Stadium). The “king” will be joining the festivities this year via the award winning Elvis Tribute Artists.

Activities will include free hot dogs, soft drinks, cotton candy and sno-cones; face painting for kids of all ages; four large inflatables; the opportunity to visit with Tech faculty and staff; discount coupons at the Tech bookstore (open 1-5 p.m.); free concert featuring two award winning Elvis Tribute Artists (Cody Slaughter and Tony Witt); and a Family Day coupon for half-price football tickets ($5 general admission, $3 students, free for five and younger).

Organizers say the free concert is family friendly, and they hope families will “bring your lawn chairs & blankets for a fun afternoon.”

Important times to remember:

2 p.m. – Hot dogs and soft drinks

3 p.m. – Concert begins

6 p.m. – Tech vs. Henderson State
