Arkansas Tech University President Dr. Robin E. Bowen presented Jeanice Falls of Russellville with a plaque recognizing her as the No. 1 fan of Golden Suns basketball before the ATU home basketball doubleheader on Thursday, Feb. 2.
A 1938 graduate of Arkansas Tech, Falls is a member of the ATU Hall of Distinction and a long-time supporter of the Arkansas Tech women’s basketball program. The annual award for most outstanding senior female student-athlete at Arkansas Tech is named in her honor.
Falls served as a long-time employee of Western Arkansas Telephone Company in Russellville, as president of the Arkansas Tech Alumni Association and as the first woman on the Russellville Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
