Arkansas Tech’s Chelsea Evanoff was named Gulf South Conference West Division pitcher of the week on Tuesday.
Evanoff, a right-handed junior from Tucson, Ariz., was 4-1 in five appearances last week. She had an earned run average of 1.55 in 31 and two-thirds innings of work.
Included in Evanoff’s big week was a no-hitter against Henderson State on Friday. It was Evanoff’s first career no-hitter as a Golden Sun, and it was the ninth no-hitter in Tech softball history.
Evanoff also delivered the game-winning hit in the 1-0 Suns’ victory over Henderson State on Friday.
The Golden Suns (18-16 overall, 8-8 GSC) will be idle until April 8-11, when they will compete in the GSC Crossover Tournament at Decatur, Ala.
