Johnathan Sutherland captured the top undergraduate award available to students in the Arkansas Tech University Department of Health and Physical Education for the 2009-10 academic year.
Sutherland (photographed), who is a senior from Russellville, received the 2010 Dr. Pat Gordon award for outstanding undergraduate student of the year in health and physical education.
The award’s namesake served on the Arkansas Tech health and physical education faculty from 1965-2001. Gordon was elevated to professor emeritus status by the Arkansas Tech Board of Trustees in March 2010.
