Entry Deadline for Miss Tech Nears

Female students who meet the eligibility criteria have until Friday to complete the early registration for the annual Miss Tech Pageant.  Students who register after Friday will not be featured in the program book.

Delta Zeta Sorority is sponsoring the pageant, which will take place on Friday, February 26, in the Witherspoon Building Auditorium.

The 2010 Miss Tech will receive a two-semester tuition scholarship to Arkansas Tech University and several thousand dollars in gift certificates from area businesses.

To be eligible to compete, students must have successfully completed at least one semester as a full-time (at least 12 credit hours) student at Arkansas Tech and presently be enrolled and attending classes on a full-time basis.

Naomi Shure (photographed) is the reigning Miss Tech, and she will provide special entertainment during the pageant.

The Miss Tech Scholarship Pageant is an official preliminary for the Miss America Pageant, and Miss Tech will compete in the 2010 Miss Arkansas Pageant this summer in Hot Springs.

The pageant entry forms are available online on the Miss Arkansas website.  To find out more about the pageant, email Dr. Jim Collins at jcollins@atu.edu.
