Eddie Lee Herndon, president, and CEO of United Way is visiting ATU-Ozark Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at 11:00 am to speak to students. Herndon’s message will be positive, encouraging, and motivating to all who attend.

Eddie Lee Herndon’s Biography
Eddie Lee Herndon is currently the President and CEO of the United Way of Fort Smith Area covering four counties in Arkansas and 2 in Oklahoma. He accepted his current position Fort Smith in late February. As President and CEO of UWFSA, he is leading the organization in its mission to “unite people and resources to make a lasting change” in the areas of Health, Education, and Financial Stability.
He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Arkansas Imagination Library. He was instrumental in founding the organization, was a keynote speaker at Dolly Parton’s Foundation Homecoming in Pigeon
Forge in 2017. He is also a member of the University of Memphis-Lambuth Alumni Board, is the chair of Mercy Hospital’s Access to Care Committee, is a member of Restore Hope’s Sebastian County Committee, and is
Chair of the United Ways of Arkansas Board.
Before moving back to Arkansas, he was President and CEO of the United Way of West TN overseeing the operations of United Way in 14 counties in West Tennessee. In addition to his work with United Way, Eddie Lee spent over a decade in higher education at Lambuth University. During his time as Athletic’s Director, he was twice named Mid South Conference AD of the year, NAIA Region 11 AD of the Year, and was a
nominee for National Athletics’ Director of the Year.
He is also an entrepreneur and has owned several small businesses including KXIO 106.9 in Clarksville AR, MII Gourmet, GameOn Sports Nutrition in Memphis TN, and Mossy Matters in Jackson TN.
Among other activities, he is a graduate of Leadership Jackson (TN), Balanced Man Leadership Program at the Jepson School of Leadership at the University of Richmond, WestStar Leadership (University of Tennessee),
Leadership Fort Smith, and is currently a member of Leadership Crawford Class of 2019.
Before beginning his career with United Way, Eddie Lee has served the community in numerous ways including volunteering for many non-profit organizations: United Way Allocations, Cancer Relay for Life Committee and Chair Person, American Heart Association Heart Walk Committee, West TN Boy Scouts Committees, Downtown Development and Shannon Street Blues Fest, March of Dimes, and Ducks Unlimited Chair.
He has served on various boards and committees for both Union University and Lambuth University.
Eddie Lee is most proud of his family. He has four children: Brock (22), Haylee (21), Sydney (20), Brody (18), and one grandson, Rhett Herndon.
