Members of the community can drop off unwanted electronics today at the Pope County Fairgrounds thanks to organizing efforts of several Arkansas Tech student groups.
The student organizations are sponsoring an E-Waste Recycling Drive for anyone in the community to dispose of old electronics to be recycled free of charge.
Items can be dropped off between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. All electronics are accepted, excluding refrigerators, stoves, dishwashers, vacuums, washers, dryers and microwaves.
In November, the groups collected more than three tons of electronic waste to recycle.
The student organizations hosting the event include Marketing Club, SIFE and Computer Club. The event is sponsored by GreenSource, renewing the earth through technology.
