Students at Arkansas Tech University helped collect five tons of electronic waste last week during a recycling drive last Friday.
The drive took place at the Pope Country Fairgrounds and was designed to offer those in the River Valley a safe way to recycle electronic waste.
Several community organizations including Arkansas Tech University Enactus, the Arkansas Tech Computer Club, the Pope County Fairgrounds and Greensource Recycling joined forces to host the event.
Organizers say they were pleased with the participation and hope to offer the event in the future.
