Arkansas Tech University professor Dr. Georgena Duncan was recognized during a retirement reception held in her honor Tuesday afternoon.
During the reception, Duncan was presented a plaque recognizing her service to the university.
Duncan joined the faculty in 1975, and she has served in a variety of roles including head of the History and Political Science Department and dean of the School of Liberal and Fine Arts, which is now the College of Arts and Humanities.
Dr. Michael Tarver, dean of the College of Arts and Humanities, said Duncan will be missed. He added, “Many of us had the opportunity to work with her and are grateful for the guidance she gave us.”
Upon her retirement from the College of Arts and Humanities, Duncan will remain a familiar face on the Arkansas Tech campus, as she will be working in the Arkansas Tech ESL Academy.
