Arkansas Tech senior Alex Doyle is the Gulf South Conference West Division softball pitcher of the week for the period ending March 6.
Doyle, a right-hander from Carrollton, Texas, appeared in four games last week for the Golden Suns. She made four starts in the circle and pitched three complete games.
For the week, Doyle was 2-2 with a 1.53 earned run average in 21 innings. She struck out 15 batters and walked just six.
Doyle’s week included a four-hit shutout win over Fort Hays State and a two-hit shutout win over St. Edward’s.
Arkansas Tech (9-8) won two games and lost three at the Holiday Inn at the Falls Midwestern State University Invitational in Wichita Falls, Texas, last weekend.
The Golden Suns will open Gulf South Conference play with a four-game series at Southern Arkansas on Saturday, March 12, and Sunday, March 13.
