Arkansas Tech University student Scott Douthit III continued a family tradition on Thursday, Dec. 13, at Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center in Russellville.

His donation to the Arkansas Tech University Foundation, which he presented to ATU President Dr. Robin E. Bowen, will go toward the Linda Douthit Memorial Scholarship.

Also on hand for the presentation was ATU Board of Trustees member and Douthit family friend Tom Kennedy of Little Rock.

The namesake of the scholarship is Scott's grandmother. Linda Douthit taught school in Russellville. She passed away in 1987. The endowed scholarship in her memory supports a student majoring in biology in the ATU College of Natural and Health Sciences.

The donor owns Scotty's Storage Trailer Rentals Inc. in Russellville while concurrently pursuing an accounting degree at ATU.
