Arkansas Tech University linebacker D’Vonta Derricott was named Great American Conference football defensive player of the week on Monday, Oct. 31.
Derricott recorded a season-high 18 tackles to help the Wonder Boys earn a 41-35 Homecoming victory over Northwestern Oklahoma State University at Thone Stadium at Buerkle Field in Russellville on Saturday, Oct. 29.
A senior from Richmond, Va., Derricott has reached double figures in tackles in four of the seven games in which he has appeared this season.
The Wonder Boys (5-4) will go on the road for their final two games of the season. Tech will visit Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford on Saturday, Nov. 5, and Harding University in Searcy on Saturday, Nov. 12.
