The Arkansas Tech Music Department has rescheduled the special guest musician performance.

On Saturday, March 5, at 7 p.m., Michael Davidson will be performing a trombone recital in Witherspoon Auditorium. There is no charge to attend.

Additionally, there will be an open master class from 2-4 p.m. in Witherspoon.

Davidson, assistant professor of trombone at the University of Kansas, is principal trombonist of the Shreveport Symphony Orchestra and the South Arkansas Symphony, and trombonist for several others.

Serving on the Asia Trombone Seminar faculty in 2009, he travelled to Shih-Chien University in Tapei, Taiwan.

Prior to his appointment to the Kansas University music faculty in 2007, Davidson taught at Benedictine College, Northwestern Oklahoma State University, the University of Arkansas at Monticello, Centenary College of Louisiana, and several public schools in Northwest Louisiana.

Davidson has been included in Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers, named the 1991 Caddo Association of Educators’ Music Teacher of the Year, and was an appointed member of the American School Band Directors in 1996.
