Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus, in partnership with Nicole’s Consignment and A Touch of Class Consignment Shop, have kicked off a fundraising campaign to benefit the United Way.
When selling items, such as shoes, purses, jewelry and spring or summer wear, to either Nicole’s or A Touch of Class, a portion of the proceeds can be donated toward the United Way.
Sandy Nelson of Clarksville, academic advisor for the Career Pathways Initiative (CPI) program Arkansas Tech-Ozark, said customers need to inform the sales clerk that they would like a portion donated toward the Arkansas Tech-Ozark United Way campaign.
Nicole’s, which will give 50 percent of the amount received for each item, is located at 210 W. Commercial. A Touch of Class, 308 N. Third St., will give 40 percent.
“Partnering with local consignment stores will give all community members an opportunity to participate,” Nelson said.
“The United Way helped the community when we were hit by devastating tornadoes last year, and this gives us an opportunity to give back.”
