Ashton Sangster of Arkansas Tech University is the Great American Conference softball player of the week for Tuesday, April 10.
Sangster was 9-for-18 with one home run, 10 runs batted in, six runs scored and five stolen bases last week while helping the Golden Suns (31-11 overall, 22-8 GAC) go 5-1 in games against Harding University and Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
This is the second GAC player of the week award Sangster has earned this season. She also received the honor on Feb. 13.
A sophomore from Van Buren, Sangster has 22 stolen bases in 2018, eclipsing the previous single-season school record of 19 stolen bases established by Terrise Williams in 2004.
The Golden Suns will visit the University of Arkansas-Monticello for a four-game GAC series on Sunday, April 15, and Monday, April 16. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. both days.
