College to Career Center to Advise Business Students

The College to Career Center in the College of Business has announced its staff will be advising business students for the Spring 2012 semester, and students are required to attend mandatory advising sessions next week.

Students who are freshmen, transferring from another school or changing their major to business will be required to attend one of the advising sessions held between Monday, Oct. 31 and Wednesday, Nov. 9.

The deadline to register is noon today. Students should register on the College of Business Advising Blackboard site.

Management/Marketing majors may attend sessions on Monday at 10 a.m., Tuesday at 2:30 p.m., and Thursday at 8 a.m. or 2:30 p.m.

Economics majors may attend sessions on Tuesday at 8 a.m. or Monday or Nov. 7 at 2 p.m.

Accounting majors may attend sessions Wednesday at 10 a.m. or Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m.

All advising sessions will be held in Rothwell Hall Room 213 with the exception of the session at 8 a.m. Wednesday, which will be held in Room 313.

To reserve a spot in one of these sessions, refer to the following steps to self-enroll.

  1. Select “College of Business – Advising” under the “My Courses” tab.
  2. Select the “Groups” tab on the left side of the page.
  3. Locate the advising session you would like to sign up for and select “Sign Up.”

Each student will have a faculty advisor as a professional mentor, but use the College to Career Center as a means of academic advising and scheduling.

The College to Career Center, formerly known as Student Success Center, is a new addition to the College of Business that will focus on professionally developing the holistic College of Business student.
