College to Career Center Explores Campus Talent

One Arkansas Tech University student is putting his classroom knowledge of graphic design to use by working with the College to Career Center.

The College to Career Center, a new entity within the College of Business, is focused on the professional development of students.

The center worked with junior graphic design student Wayland Beavers (photographed center) to develop three banners the College to Career Center can use as part of its promotional materials.

Beavers says he became interested in graphic design because of its evolving nature.  He says he enjoyed working with the College of Business on this project because it allowed him to better understand the business side of graphic design.

Upon graduation, Beavers hopes to own and operate a graphic design company. He is currently working with the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center, which is housed on the Arkansas Tech campus, to develop a business plan.

Dr. Ed Bashaw, dean of the College of Business, says he looks forward to working with Beavers and other Tech students in the future.
