Clary Honored at Retirement Reception

Arkansas Tech University and the College of Education paid tribute to Dr. Eldon Clary, Jr. today during a retirement reception.

Dr. Clary, dean of the College of Education, has served as a member of the Arkansas Tech faculty since 1967.

During his 45-year tenure, Clary has served in a variety of roles including department head, head of secondary instruction, director of teacher education, head of curriculum and instruction and dean of graduate studies. His retirement will become effective June 30.

As part of today's reception, Clary was presented with a plaque for his service by Dr. John Watson, vice president for Academic Affairs.  Clary was also presented with an iPad from members of the College of Education.

Clary said he will miss the Arkansas Tech family.  He added, "I will miss the friendships and the opportunities to work along side you.  I hope that I have made a difference during my time at Tech.  I feel like many of you have shaped me and my life."
