City Council Candidates to Debate at Tech

Two candidates for the Ward 1, Position 1 seat on the Russellville City Council will participate in a debate hosted by the Arkansas Tech University Department of History and Political Science and the ATU debate and forensics team on Friday, April 7.

The debate will begin at 7 p.m. in Doc Bryan Student Services Center Lecture Hall at 1605 Coliseum Drive in Russellville. Admission will be free and open to the public.

Candidates scheduled to participate in the debate are Andrew Barrett and Chuck Frankhouse. Phyllis Carruth is also a candidate for the position.

A special election is scheduled for Tuesday, April 11, to fill the vacant seat on the council. Only those who live in Russellville Ward 1 may vote in the special election.

Early voting will take place at the Pope County Election Commission headquarters at 1509 E. Main St. in Russellville weekdays from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. through Monday, April 10. Election day voting will be open from 7:30 a.m.-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11, at the same location.
