Choirs to Perform Monday

The Arkansas Tech University Music Department will feature all choirs in the annual Winter Concert on Monday.

The performances will be in Witherspoon Auditorium at 7:30 p.m. Admission will be free and open to the public.

The concert will include the Arkansas tech Women’s Chorus under the direction of Holly Ruth Gale, the Men’s Chorus under the direction of Jon Clements and the University Choir, Chamber Choir and Concert Chorale under the direction of Gary Morris.

The Clarksville High School Chamber Choir will be featured as this year’s invited choir.

Officials say one of the highlighted pieces of the concert will be the performance of “Winter Images composed by Arkansas Tech Professor Philip Parker. It will feature the Concert Chorale and Percussion Ensemble.

The Concert Chorale will close out the concert with “Ezekiel Saw de Wheel” arranged by William Dawson.

Additionally, the Concert Chorale will combine with the Clarksville Chamber Choir for the Chorale’s signature piece, “The Plans I Have For You.”
