Chinese Students Attend Summer Language Camp

Dozens of international high school students and teachers from China will arrive in Arkansas this weekend to take part in a summer language camp at Arkansas Tech.

The annual camp is hosted by the International and Multicultural Student Services Office and the English Language Institute to help prepare international students for the expectations of studying abroad in college.

Organizers say the camp is a way for the students to better their English skills while being exposed to campus life at an American university.

During the two-week camp, participants will study English during intensive language classes each morning.

The students will also learn about American culture as part of evening and weekend excursions. Activities planned for the students include a trip to Branson, watching the Arkansas Travelers’s and touring to Crystal Bridges.
