John Kutko, a children’s author from Clarksville, will be the speaker at the April 10 edition of the Second Monday Author Series hosted by Ross Pendergraft Library and Technology Center at Arkansas Tech University.
Kutko will speak beginning at 7 p.m. in room 300B of the library, which is located at 305 West Q Street in Russellville.
Admission will be free and open to the public.
Kutko developed the story for “The Tiger and the Painted Bunting.” It tells the tale of an unlikely friendship between a tiger cub named Shanti, a painted bunting named Al and how their kinship added value and meaning to both of their lives. The book was written and illustrated by Kutko’s granddaughter, Abbriel Harrison.
“The Tiger and the Painted Bunting” was published by Dorrance Publishing Company in 2022. There will be a drawing for a free signed copy of the book and additional copies will be available for purchase at the April 10 event.
A retiree from the Clarksville School District, Kutko taught health and physical education at Clarksville Primary School for 11 years.
