CEC Earth Day Events Begin

The Arkansas Tech Campus Environmental Coalition (CEC) invites the campus to join them in celebrating Earth Day with a series beginning today.

The Arkansas Tech Campus Environmental Coalition (CEC) invites the campus to join them in celebrating Earth Day with a series of events this week.

Today students can attend the showing of “The Natural State of America” at 6:30 p.m. in McEver Room 162. Maker of the film Brian Campbell will be on hand to answer questions following the movie.

Tomorrow, student organizations and community organizations will have booths at the Hindsman Bell Tower and the Doc Bryan Courtyard to host fun, family friendly activities centered around the environment. Booths will be open from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

The CEC will host a clothing exchange Friday along with the booths for students to bring clothes they no longer wear and exchange them for things others brought.

At 1:15 p.m., students will gather at the Taco Villa parking lot for an Environmental Awareness March. The walk will begin at 1:30 p.m. and participants will walk to the Russellville Depot.

From 2-6 p.m., students will be able to enjoy live bands and various speakers and have the opportunity to win door prizes.

Bands scheduled to perform include Snuffbox, Korey and Jay, Me, You, and Jamie Lou, Sound of the Mountain, Half Raptor and Such Great Heights.
