Carter Honored by Teacher Education Colleagues

Arkansas Tech University faculty member Dr. Tim Carter received the Nancy P. Gallavan Distinguished Service Award from the Arkansas Association of Teacher Educators (ArATE) on Friday, Sept. 25.

Criteria for the award states that it is designed to “recognize persons who have made cumulative significant contributions to ArATE over a period of at least 10 years for their service to the organization and their contributions to teacher education in the state of Arkansas.”

Carter holds Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts and Master of Education degrees from Arkansas Tech. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Georgia.

A member of the ATU faculty since 1998, Carter is associate dean of the ATU College of Education and professor of curriculum and instruction.
