Brass Choir to Perform Sunday Evening

The University Brass Choir from Arkansas Tech University will perform at All Saints Episcopal Church in Russellville on Sunday, April 10.

The hour-long program will begin at 6 p.m. Admission will be free and open to the public.

Dr. Gary Barrow, professor of music and director of the University Brass Choir at Arkansas Tech, said that Sunday will mark the ensemble’s first performance at All Saints Episcopal Church. The church is located at 501 South Phoenix Ave.

Dr. Timothy Smith, associate professor of music, will be featured as an organ soloist.

“Music has been selected to take full advantage of the church’s new organ as well as its marvelous acoustics,” said Barrow.

Pieces scheduled for performance include “Round of Seven Parts” by Gordon Jacob, “Voluntary on Hyfrydol” by Charles Knox, “Proud Heritage” by William P. Latham, “Achieved is the Glorious Work” by Joseph Haydn and “Another Cat: Kraken” by Chris Hazell.
