The Arkansas Tech University-Ozark Campus bookstore will host a tax-free weekend Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 3 and 4, in which certain items may be purchased without sales tax.
The statewide holiday allows students to better afford textbooks and school supplies, as well as clothes and accessories. The bookstore will be open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and 1-4 p.m. Sunday. Bookstore Manager Mitzi Reano said, “The cost of textbooks and supplies can pile up quickly, so the tax-free weekend is great in that it lets our students save some much-needed funds for life outside of school.” Cash, checks and debit/credit cards are accepted; items may not be charged toward a student’s financial aid, she said.
