Arkansas Tech’s DeAndre Bonner is the Great American Conference football defensive player of the week following his performance in the Wonder Boys’ 24-21 win over the University of Arkansas at Monticello on Saturday, Oct. 20.
His award was announced by the league office in Russellville on Monday.
Bonner helped turn away two UAM scoring threats by recovering fumbles in the end zone for touchbacks.
A junior defensive back from Duncanville, Texas, Bonner also made two tackles in the victory as the Wonder Boys extended their winning streak to four consecutive games.
Arkansas Tech (5-3 overall, 3-2 GAC) will visit nationally 19th-ranked Harding University (6-1, 4-1) for a 2 p.m. league contest at First Security Stadium in Searcy on Saturday, Oct. 27.
