Boll Weevils Top Wonder Boys 5-2

Brady Weiss and Sean Wagner drove in two runs apiece in a 5-2 University of Arkansas-Monticello win over Arkansas Tech University in non-conference baseball at Tech Field in Russellville on Tuesday.

The Boll Weevils (15-10) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the third inning and used a quintet of pitchers to remain in front. Jared Libke started and went four innings before giving way to Michael Harrison (1-1), who was named the winning pitcher after working one inning.

UAM’s Drake Streeter got the final two outs for his first save of 2017.

Zach Klockowski and Michael Post both had one RBI for the Wonder Boys (16-11).

Layton Robinson (0-1) started on the mound for Tech and was charged with two runs on four hits in two and one-third innings.

The Wonder Boys will host Oklahoma Baptist University for a three-game GAC series at Tech Field on Saturday, March 25, and Sunday, March 26.
