The Arkansas Tech University Board of Trustees granted approval for the institution to enter into negotiations to purchase the property at 716 N. El Paso Ave. in Russellville during a called meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 6.
Comprised of approximately 2.5 acres and three buildings totaling 16,378 square feet, the property would be purchased with funds from the university’s unappropriated educational and general fund balance.
“The property is located near current Arkansas Tech University property and will be useful for Arkansas Tech University in the future,” wrote Bernadette Hinkle, vice president for administration and finance, in a memorandum presented to trustees.
